16 Mermaid Avenue, Maroubra, sold for $14m last week, setting a new suburb record.
Not only was the Tamarama suburb record smashed with a $16.5m sale last week, so was Maroubra’s with a $14m sale as buyers passion for trophy homes by the coast soars.
“There’s an unquenchable thirst for housing, FOMO [Fear of Missing Out] and TINA — There is No Alternative,” says leading prestige residential valuer Simon Feilich, director of Dyson Austen.
The five-bedroom, five-bathroom Smyth & Smyth-designed home with six-car garage at 16 Mermaid Avenue, Maroubra — which records show was owned by Buildquip director Connie Stojic — sold last Tuesday via Sotheby’s managing director Michael Pallier.
